Get To Know Me

Hi, I'm Emma Tanklage, a Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist and lifelong horsewoman. My passion for equine massage therapy is an extension of my love for equestrian sports and the animals I have dedicated my entire life to. My work is rooted in years of hands-on experience in the equestrian world—first as a young girl with a love of show jumping and then as a passionate, young professional.

Before launching my massage practice, I worked as both an assistant trainer and barn manager for a few A-circuit level programs, overseeing the daily care of everything from young show horses to seasoned lesson ponies. I've taught riders of all levels from ages 3 to 70+, maintained training programs, coordinated horse health routines, and worked closely with veterinarians and bodyworkers.

From working with chiropractors and massage therapists, I experienced the many benefits of these services. I witnessed the results in client horses' behavior, balance, health, and performance, which furthered my desire to provide the same services to enhance each horse's well-being. Having spent much time in the saddle and in the ring, I understand the physical demands placed on equine athletes and companions alike. Whether a horse needs targeted support to recover from hard work, maintain soundness through training, or to feel good in their body, I approach each session with patience, attentiveness, and a deep respect for the individual horse.

I take pride in offering reliable, organized, and personalized care, building long-term relationships with owners and trainers who value thoughtful, horse-centered support. Communication is at the heart of my work—I want every client to be well-informed and confident in the care their horses receive.

My mission is simple: to help horses feel their best, move their best, and thrive.

"Emma provides excellent care to our retired show horses. After years of showing, the support of equine massage has insured their continued flexibility and overall health. The horses enjoy Emma’s massage and stretching treatments. She truly connects with the horses, and they fully participate and accept her treatments. After every visit they are moving easier and even romping in the turn out. Thank you Emma for keeping them feeling young!"
